View Full Version : Public Rinks

For those who have expressed an interest, the August issue of Parks & Recreation Magazine, which is the publication of the National Parks & Recreation Association (NRPA) will have a feature article on Parks & Recreation Departments building first-class rinks, and then charging public rates for players to play.

This magazine goes to virtually every Parks/Recreation/Leisure Services type department in all the major cities in the country.

If you would like to have your city provide a first class rink, where you could play 200 games a year for only $100 annually, then you might want to get a copy of the article and personally visit your local municipal Parks Department and challenge them to provide this for your citizenry.

I will have reprints available to send to anybody who asks, but it would certainly be a lot more impressive for you to walk in to said department with "their own" industry magazine in hand, to ask your local officials when they are going to get on the stick...or perhaps something more diplomatic, but you get the idea...

will send you a reprint copy when they get here...

our Hawks boy's 12's, and Rhinos girls' 12's are planning on going to St. Louis...we had three teams go to Denver for the SixPac USA nationals (two first division runner-up finishes), and will have five Polar Bears teams going to USAHIL Youth Nationals...that's about the line-up...

good luck to you guys at the AAU Junior Olympic event...

Danny, just came across your post but wondering where to get that article. Sound extremly interesting. Is there a way to e-mail it over or purchase it in a bookstore.

Thank you,

Frank

I apologize that I don't have copies of the magazine...first, inquire at the local public library...a bookstore chain would probably also be able to help you...also check the NRPA (National Parks & Recreation Association) web site for points of contact...let me know and I will send you a photocopy reprint, if that would help...
