For those who have expressed an interest, the August issue of Parks & Recreation Magazine, which is the publication of the National Parks & Recreation Association (NRPA) will have a feature article on Parks & Recreation Departments building first-class rinks, and then charging public rates for players to play.
This magazine goes to virtually every Parks/Recreation/Leisure Services type department in all the major cities in the country.
If you would like to have your city provide a first class rink, where you could play 200 games a year for only $100 annually, then you might want to get a copy of the article and personally visit your local municipal Parks Department and challenge them to provide this for your citizenry.
I will have reprints available to send to anybody who asks, but it would certainly be a lot more impressive for you to walk in to said department with "their own" industry magazine in hand, to ask your local officials when they are going to get on the stick...or perhaps something more diplomatic, but you get the idea...
