Patience is a virtue...Unfortunately I have the patience of a two year old but I guess I will have to deal. The truth is always the answer but the false always seems to be given. In the words of Yoda DO OR DO NOT THERE IS NO TRY!!!

So?

Any news on what is upon us?

A comprehensive public relations/marketing plan is being put together as we speak. There's a lot going on. Those of you who know me know that I only make an announcement when I'm sure of it's accuracy. I'm not going to go blathering on about "maybe's" and "probably's". So based on my original post on this subject, you can be certain that an announcement will be made, but it will only be made when all the "T's" are dotted and the "I's" are crossed. Or something like that. Please be patient.

Thanks for your interest, though.

You started it by posting a tease. I was just following up, Mr. President.

Yeah, and I am looking for a pro league that doesn't have friends on the team, in the committee and well, everywhere involved in an organization. Oh yeah, the league I was looking for was Fantasty Hockey on Espn. NICE
Ill be waiting like the rest of IHC readers.....

I'm still not sure what problem you have but I think I've figured it out. 8th out of 180 players in assists (on a team that didn't reach .500) is really a friend most of us would like to have on our team. Sorry if you lost a spot on a team to a player that you don't think was worthy.

Just wondering what the Friends issue was....thought for sure there was a real incident that brought that statement out.

cyclonewinger
07-12-2004, 10:44 AM
I tend to agree that the leagues seem not only very local, but also tend to keep friends in the loop while others sit and wonder what is going on with the team. This includes tryouts and where the team is going in regards to the future.

No such thing as a World Pro Champion in Pro Inline Hockey, because Pro Inline Hockey does not exist yet. Perhaps in the near future.

I guess the Yankees and Marlins will have to change all those pennants, eh? Not a Pro World league in baseball either, but they use it.

I guess i am just being unrealistic and for some reason, idealistic. I have had some rather interesting incidents over the past 3 years in my so called "pro" experience ( NARHL, PIHA, MLRH). Obviously, I am not going to go into it and dig a hole that can't be escaped. It is one of those things that most roller or ice hockey players go into one time or another....It is known as hockey purgatory and you are wandering what you really want out of the sport you think you still like and hope to play in the near future....Everybody has their breaking points, and when I get off this board, I will know when it is time to pack up the skates.
My two cents....

Now you are comparing the PIHA and the MLRH to the MLB? lol Too Funny.

I will now change my Fantasy Hockey Title from League Champ to World Fantasy Hockey Champion. It looks better.

keep your head up berk... I managed to make teams where I didnt know a single person, it's possible. Now, I know most everyone in the southeast pretty well and I run a rink etc. It gets better if you keep at it kid. Maybe you need a change from the northeast?

It's o.k. I equate your perceived "impatience" to your passion for the sport. There's a lot of dedicated people who frequent this and other M.B.'s (this being the best and most informative, of course) and the desire for a "professionally-run" elite roller hockey league can be quite comsuming. My initial post was to qwell what I thought was the start of rumours and misinformation. It wasn't intended to imply that an announcement was imminent. I'm assuming you would rather wait a little to hear accurate, true information instead of getting falsehoods right away.

Your patience will be rewarded!

Seems that you understand why I or others may be iffy. Your own Inline Hockey America failed to start up, becasue a Chicago team pulled out, while teams in the east remained loyal and were eager to continue.

Hope the news is good.

NLane

No comparing. Just saying that there are teams that do not play games that count outside the USA but still call their Finals a "World Series". Am I wrong?

cyclonewinger
07-12-2004, 05:55 PM
Your correct, but the teams are made up of players from all over the world and not just from across the street. So lets not get carried away. Your can't even compare it to Apples and Oranges. Not at this point.

NLane
07-13-2004, 08:13 AM
Once again it wasn't a comparison. And exactly what World Champs are you disputing anyway? The Glads? Hey, they paid for that banner. They should be able to put whatever they want on it.

Benny_Gulakiw
07-13-2004, 11:35 AM
I've been around long enough to completely understand any skepticism you may have. By the way, I don't mean to correct you, but IHA failed to start up last summer because the Pittsburgh team pulled out at the last minute, not the Chicago team. However, it has been more of a challenge getting the Midwest put together than I or anyone thought. There's enough talent there and enough quality facilities there that eventually it will happen. Maybe sooner rather than later.

Stay tuned.

I am officially signing off from this board forever. I am sure I will be missed. I will be back on when I fund my own team and declare myself captain, general manager and owner ( not necessarily in that order). Thank you for the opportunities for voicing my opinion Mr. Graham, and god speed.
