TRAVEL TEAM IN THE MAKING

MY BOSS IS TRYING TO START A TRAVEL HOCKEY TEAM. GROWING UP MY PARENTS ALWAYS TOOK CARE OF EXPENSES SO I NEVER NEW HOW MUCH THEY REALLY PAID. SINCE THEY ARE NOW "OLD" I CANT ASK THEM. WE ARE TRYING TO START A 8 AND UNDER TRAVEL TEAM IN FLORIDA. IF ANYONE CAN PLEASE HELP ME WITH ANY INFORMATION PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I NEED MOSTLY COST ESTIMATES SUCH AS JERSEY, TRAVEL, BAGS, PANTS, ETC... THANK YOU FOR ANY REPLIES..

Estimates:

Jersey's, pants and bags:

Mid-Top end...$200.00/player(two jerseys one pair pants)

Budget end....$100.00/player (two jerseys one pair pants)

Cost per tournament: $300 - 450.00/team

Mileage/car: $.35 - $.40 mile

Hotels /player: Assume at least one adult/player at 8u, so best group rates: $100.00 - $200.00 per weekend/player(two nights)

Meals: $100.00 - $200.00 weekend/family

So each tournament that is 100 miles away will cost each player's family about $325.00 - $525.00 depending on how many go and what accomodations are available. Includes $45.00/player average entry fee (including $5.00 for "weekend warrior insurance fee). This cost of course can be reduced if kids travel without parents, and double or triple bunk. However with 8u it's not always a good thing to have them there without mom or dad.

I wish there were many more 8U teams around. We play out of Louisiana but go to Gulfport often. Is that within your range? There are teams there from average to strong it will be a great place to go to if you can.
