I should then assume the same for the extremes and nasty boyz game.

actually the extremes vs nasty boys game was cancelled because they play in a barn and rumor has it that the heat made all of the tiles come up behind the one net and it was no where near safe enough to play on, why was the lunatics vs minutemen game cancelled?? both of these events this weekend make the league look really bad, not even a press release on why they were cancelled?? at least MLRH tells you why a game was cancelled, weather etc. LETS GO PIHA GET IT TOGETHER!

That rink is a death trap. The growl played there the week before and it rained outside. The floor became so wet that the players couldnt stand let along skate. I am surprised no one suffered a serious injury.

Rumor is true. Due to lack of a ventilation system in the rink (A/C or heat) the tiles have been expanding and contracting with the heat and cold. In short, the owner spend a hell of a lot of money on a court that probably won't make it past the summer. What a waste.

Barn? Sorry but isn't the Nasty Boy's rink a former ice rink and in a purpose built building? We used to play against their ice teams(Wolfpack) there a few years ago. I guess if they took the ice making system out the AC went with it.

Has it been that bad every game; like for example, how was the Reading/Typhoon game a few Thursdays ago?

I seriously have never been more intimidated about skating on a rink as I was that rainy Saturday. It was downright scary. That has to be really discouraging to an owner who otherwise has himself a decent rink. I hope things get turned around.

Is that Sport Court or spider Court...I talked with one other owner who just installed Spider Court and is having the same sort of problem. He has AC though and claims he has been temperature conscious..55 - 75 deg F

As far as the floor being wet..same thing over the weekend at USAHIL Junior Nat's tryouts East at Skatezone...humidity was making puddles everywhere and they have a good system...I think the cool air from the adjacent ice rink was a large part of their problem however.

Instead of focusing on the negative of the rink lets look at the positive. The had a pretty good snack bar.

You guys could also look at it this way. Some teams only had to play there once. Think of how the Nast Boyz may feel playing on it 9 to 10 times a year. It can not be that bad it they do it. I was there when the Growl played them and I would say the rink was okay. It wasn't the best rink I have seen, but hey its an inline rink that is indoor. If it weren't for buildings like these our sport would not have a place to exist.

to the positives. I gotta say, that rink probably played about as quick a floor as we had played on all season. just, there happened to be a patch missing behind the net. no one's fault, you can't control the weather and how tiles will react to it.

The extremes nasty boyz game will be rescheduled, due to the unplayable rink conditions in Reading over the weekend. The icecourt there buckled due to the excessive heat and nothing could be done. As I understand it, there will be a nuetral site make up game announced soon.

and i love how on the website for your team...first it doesnt have an address so thats not that good....but then like the last line is like 'right next to the crab barn' and we were just like 'ohhhh why didnt u say so in the beginin...the carb barn...of course!'

oh well...looking forward to the rest of PIHA season and i hope another game against the yellow jackets

Hi MDE3,

Sorry about that. I guess banning users who get out of line more quickly might be the solution. It's still true that it's just a few people who ruin good things for everyone. I was camping the other day and saw trash strewn all next to the stream that ran by the camp sites. I'm sure that the majority of people pack out their own trash; it's just the few who don't that damage the experience for everyone else. Same goes for people who make personal attacks on the message board, or pretend that they're someone else to harm that person's reputation.

Sincerely,
