Did I read the scores correctly?

Am i losing my eye sight or did extremes actually beat breakaway 18-8 yesterday??? did they mess up and put the scores by the wrong teams, breakaway killed tem 12-3 last week, what happened?

yep its true that extremes beat breakaway 18-8....and yeah breakaway beat extremes by a large margin last week, but it was definatly an off game for the extremes...a few weeks back extremes beat breakaway in voorhees.....extremes is not a team to be messed with....serious talent on that team

Unfortunately for us, the league has apparently scheduled some games against them! We will have to look into getting this changed! /wtimages/icons/wink.gif

This again proves how successful Charley Yoder has been in creating a great pro league. This should not come to anyone as a surprise, because anyone can beat anyone on any given night in this league and that is not just a metaphor. No team in this league has fewer than 5 loses, tell me when that has happened in NARHL, MLRH, or PIHA previous to this season.

When teams are that even sounds like men's league. Why isn't someone throwing money at the best players to be on the same team to win the Championship? Silence as we ponder that.....Even the NHL isn't that equal, or any REAL pro league for that matter. It is the best way, however, for all players to increase their ability when the level of play is so balanced. I think Mr. Yoder has done a great job with his league.

No silence here. You do it that way, and you'll find that team is the only one that exists in the league. Not one roller hockey player in the world is getting paid living wages. Therefore, not many will consider it an obligation to get smoked week in and week out. He/she just won't show up anymore and neither will your source of income; the fans. If you want to attract people to the team, the games and the sport as a whole, you need to have initial parity.

Parity is a gift when it occurs in professional sports. Most people enjoy seeing parity in sports because if you don't know who is going to win the game it will always makes it more interesting as a fan. I for one have never enjoyed officiating a Typhoon game until this year. In the past I drove to that rink already knowing the Typhoon was going to win. Now I can lace up my skates and say hey maybe Breakway is gonna beat them today or even the Shockwave. From looking at the score this past weekend I saw that the Growl beat them for their first time in the organization history. Milestones like that for teams and parity in the league makes it to be a very interesting league and makes for interesting games every time the puck drops.

One week team A beats the heck out of team B and 2 weeks later team B beats (by 12) team A. I don't really want to call this even "parity". I want to ask why doesn't "Sammy" show up for every game and why doesn't he play to win when he does. The anybody can win thing would work if ALL the games were decided by 1 or 2 goals. Some have been but most seem to be by who shows and if they want to win that week. Can't tell that by the stats as rosters and scorers are not always posted. Seems to me, tho, that the team to beat is the Wings. Will they be allowed to play in the playoffs?

Very good point NLANE, i know with my team, there are only 3 of us who have shown up to every game, now we knew this coming into the season that we would be shorthanded a lot because some guys have families and some have work, and that's fine because we play our best every time out there win or loss, i can't speak for any other team but mine was bascially thrown together last minute after a lack of talent at tryouts showed up, so the coach called up some guys and fielded what he could to start the season.

With the demands of this seasons scheudle of 2 sometimes 3 games a weekend it is hard to make every game unless you are obviously 100% dedicated to playing hockey for free. Now luckily for me my schedule permits me to play every game, but i know for the rest of our guys, including the captain, these friday night games are hard to make, as people work in new york city as well as philly.

The players are dedicated as much as they can, and when we take home paychecks then i would say yeah everyone better be there....

but the parity is in the standings, not the individual results.

I believe the money the Growl spends on their players and organization is why we landed Johnny P this season. We arn't paying him anymore than any other player, but the little extras we do, seemed to have paid off.

No the Wings are competeting as an expansion division team. it was our hope to give them a positive experience and in our traveling to Buffalo twice as a league, help create additional interest in the league for that particular region.

What do you mean hockey for free? I thought this was a paying league?

i have never seen a check, and we have to pay for the season, maybe thats just my team, but i know we have had to pay like 250 each to play this season.
