H'Girl:

Howdy! and welcome to IHC...thank you for your kind words in your initial four posts...you haven't filled out your profile section yet, so we know little about you and your friends presently: ages? experience level?

You and your friends (males? Girls? both?) can certainly make a team, find a league that would accommodate your participation...look up a local area league, check out the possibilities...

Look up "Mighty Quinn" profile on this message board...Robin (out of Kent) played with our Texas team in last year's USA Hockey Inline youth nationals, and played tremendously well...she has been playing with the boys for some time now, and if there were a coincident bunch of you girls in the same general age range, that might lead to an all-girls' team that could play in some given organization or competition...

Good Luck, hard work, and have fun...

You leave an awful lot of question un-answered. The situation here in Great Britain is at best, somewhat confusing and before anyone can come to your aid you will need to think about some of the following questions:

Where in the UK do you intend to set up your hockey team, what type of hockey do you want to play (ball or puck, inline or quad skates, checking or non-checking)

What is already available in your chosen area?
Have you spoken with the Sports Development Department of your Local Authority (Town Hall/ Civic Centre/ What have you)?

In addition to putting you in contact with local contacts of established organisations, the local authority Sports Development Department should, where no such organisation exists, offer you support in setting-up your own team (or club).

Have you visited any of the UK hockey website? For example:

Quad, ball, playing to FIRS rules: <A HREF="http://www.nrha.co.uk" target="_new">http://www.nrha.co.uk</A>
Inline, ball, playing to iiSHF Rules: <A HREF="http://www.BishaHockey.com" target="_new">http://www.BishaHockey.com</A>
Inline, puck, non-checking, playing to FIRS rules: <A HREF="http://www.BIPHA.co.uk" target="_new">http://www.BIPHA.co.uk</A>
Inline, puck, checking, playing to IIHFi rules: <A HREF="http://www.GBInline.co.uk" target="_new">http://www.GBInline.co.uk</A>

There are a number of separate organisation scattered around the UK delivering various modes of hockey, usually, but not always limited to local leagues without national affiliation, such as street hockey in London and the Home Counties, Roller Hockey in the Greater Manchester area, Roller Hockey in North Wales, Roller Hockey in Scotland each operating websites of their own.

If you send me an electronic message by clicking on my 'mailto' button, giving me the answers to the above questions, I might be able to help.

Hey, tnx for you replies, to start of with, yesterday i found there are a couple of ice teams near me. Its not necesarilly what i want in the end but...a) it'll get me playing hockey n b) its a start and should improve my skating. I am still gonna try and get a team together as i really enjoy this. So here are some basic details....my friends are both male and female, we live quite close to a ;arge car park type place and while this is not ideal its a start. Tnx anyway
