I was responding to your post, not that Tampa fan above us who is in for a rude awakening!
Like it was said on 610WIP the other day, the Tampa Bay lockerroom smells like a BenGay fatory right now! It'll catch up to them!
If the Amonte, Roenick, Zhamnov line would score, we would be unstoppable.

Well...i am still sitting here in front of my computer waiting for my rude awakening. Wonder if all you flyer fans will post now? People underestimated the lightning. There is more to being tough than throwing checks! The lightning epitiomize toughness. They keep getting up and moving on. Now...we are playing for the cup! Stanley needs a tan! GO BOLTS!!

Bah, you win. Your Blots win, too. Now I guess I want Tampa to win- I would like to see a Southern (and American) team win the Cup. I wasn't a die-hard Flyers fan, FYI. I'm just tired of hearing about what a good team Tampa has become, and the Cinderella story they are. All of the attention is focused on them at the moment.

i am so glad my bolts beat "Da flyers". They need to keep their rude, obese fans out of our arena. I ve been a lightning addict for 9 yrs, they are the reason i first got into hockey. I sat though some bad losses 4 and 5 yrs ago to last place teams like calgary, florida, etc. Go vinny, go brad, go marty! go khabi!
The past few years, their average attendance has been roughly 16,000 people.
Our fans show up to games, unlike Florida fans. Oh, they show up in droves, when their teams are winning. By the way, usually Philly fans buy all the Florida tickets when the Eagles play the Dolphins.
Southern teams don't deserve cups. There fans don't show up untill playoff time!
AKA Tampa, Florida, Carolina, and the eastern fraud fan exception of NJ.

I tols everyone I know that Calgary would win the cup! They have way to much heart not to....
Keith Primeau had a lot of heart....

Keith Primeau showed me a helluva lot this year. No matter what happens with the lockout, I believe he is the Flyers captain until his retirement. He's of the type you do not run across very often and if nothing else, you rebuild your team around him.

Maybe you should check your facts before you start talking about things you don't know about. The average attendance for the lightning this season was...17820. That places them above the following "non-southern" teams in the nhl:
Boston
Buffalo
Calgary
Chicago
Edmonton
Minnessota
New Jersey
NY Islanders
Ottawa
Pittsburgh
St. Louis
Washington
Source...USA Today.
Go Bolts!

Yes I will give you the KP. Tampa doesnt have that though. Im not really a fan of either but I do think that Calgagy wants it worse. Not only that it would be good for the sport to send the cup back to the hockey homeland.
Plus he seems to have been using Joe Sakic as a roll model in dealing with the press....:)Makes for a pleasant change..speaking with your actions and not your words.

I think either way it's a lose/lose situation for the league. Ratings are going to suffer in one last sucker punch to the head of the league before they get locked out. I'll be surprised if they even get a TV contract and advertisers upon their return.
I have to disagree somewhat on this..having a Canadian team in the Cup Finals will draw and additional 10 million viewers who would not watch an all US final..because hockey is so important in Canada...a much greater percentage of the Canadian population watches the games. When no Canadian teams are involved however, this audience shrinks dramatically.
Even though the population of Canada is only about 1/10 th of the USA, the percentage of interested viewers is probably 5 - 8 times greater than down here. Having a Canadian team in the finals again, may actually end up as a net viewer increase.

I don't really care about what you say about attendence. My Carolina Hurricanes used to have the "Greatest Fans in the NHL" 2 years ago. Caniacs. Wait until next season (if there will be a next season). Southern teams of course deserve to win the Cup, you dolt. That's why they have two divisions- SOUTH vs West. They deserve to win the Cup just as much as the Western teams deserve to win it. Go Bolts.

I was responding to the post that said that the lightning don't deserve to win a cup because they are a southern team and fans only show up during the playoffs...which i clearly proved was not true. Most team's will suffer attendance if they are loosing...whether north or south...look at chicago and pit. this last year. If you want to compare apples to apples look at NJ's attendance this year...coming off winning the cup...they were outdrawn by the lightning.

It also helps that they've been selling tickets for $8.00 on game days in the playoffs.

even if my bolts lose the finals ( i still think theyll come back! were 50 mins away from game 2) I will certainly stick with them for much longer... The nucleus of the team points to good times ahead as well.
Yea check out the past five years. There was a big difference, they were winning this year. Of course the attendance will be there if you are winning.
Carolina had the joke of an award 'Best fans in the League' around the time of their cup run. Lately, those great fans are lucky to draw 11,000. I check boxscores everyday and for one game this year, Nashville had a crowd of 7,500; and they are a playoff team!
Read here:
"Southern teams don't deserve cups. There fans don't show up untill playoff time!
AKA Tampa, Florida, Carolina, and the eastern fraud fan exception of NJ."
I mentioned the great swamp fans who cannot even sell out Game Seven of the 2003 Cup Finals.
The fans will go away once they cannot afford to keep their players around.

hello...did i not make the point that the lightning outdrew a good many teams in the nhl including traditional hockey cities like boston, ottawa and chicago and this was before the playoffs...regular season attendance. SO...the statement that lightning fans only show up for the playoffs is false. The fact is...winning brings fans...regardless of whether north south east or west and to try to make it out as a regional thing is quite frankly ignorant.
Yes, they showed up for this regular season, considering they were the best team in hockey, someone better show up! Chicago was a disgrace of a hockey club and should have been boycotted.
Check the records, when the team is not great, no one cares.
