Due to the overwhelming response we have had to our Open Tryout we will be extending the tryout to the next 10 skaters and 2 goaltenders who RSVP. For any player wondering wheather you are on the team already...you aren't, RSVP.
There will be 35 players given invitations to the mini-camp on the weekend of July 17th and 18th and a number of players from the Open Tryout will be asked to attend. The mini-camp will have 3 sessions, 2 on Saturday and 1 on Sunday, your accomodations will be taken care of by the Somerset Wolves organization.

Being fair is a good way to be, especially if you want to be a successful organization. If you can separate the friendships and personal contact, then you are golden. I think that this is a major problem among many of the teams who wish to be elite and be a so called "pro" organization. You put the best 12 guys you have out on the rink based on talent and throw your personal feelings out the window. The sad part is with this though, it really is this way at the minor league and pro ice level as well. So how can we fault these local teams for Politics? Sorry to take thunder from your post Brian, but wanted to express my feelings about the roller hockey community.

The reason I made that post was to let every player wanting to tryout know that they will be getting a fair look at the tryout and will be given all opportunity to make the Somerset Wolves roster. I do not know what has transpired at other teams tryouts or camps I can only comment on ours, and we have had a significant amount of new faces in our organization over the course of our 2 seasons. From our first season to this past season we have rostered and played 36 different position players and 4 goaltenders. We will be fair with our tryouts, just clearing the air.

...to answer your question, they are no more. The Somerset Wolves would like to thank all of the players who have called or emailed to RSVP'd for our Open tryout on July 10th, all spots are filled. Good luck to the players trying out and to the rest of the league with their tryouts.

Sorry my misconception was these were team roster spots, not tryout spots....appologies.
