So, has Vegas been contacted yet and has a line been posted? Me, I'm going with Marple in 2. Marples too strong and I just don't see how coach Dan can grease the pockets of his ref buddy for another series and get away with it. Especially the finals with everyone watching. First game Marple by 8, second game Marple by 5. Any comments?

wow greasing the refs pockets huh?
Sounds like more controversy.... lol
I say Marple in 2, but 3+ each game.
Looking at the game stats..wow..I can see why someone would be prone to thinking that way...however not being at the game..I would have to defer judgement.

Someone needed to be the fall guy. It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that the Thunder is at least two strides better than the Storm. Sounds more like sour grapes to me.
Lose with dignity and stop getting laughed at because of the crying.

Don't fool yourself, Talent will always beat officiating that leaves a lot to be desired. Where was team Wheel pusher to save the Storm boys? Looking forward to meeting you johnny p on thursday....and you too Sully and JJ :)

im sorry but isnt there 3 refs in a MLRH game. You failed to tell the public that the other two officials are from the Boston rink and know the players from the Storm. How can MLRH make you an all star when you act and say outragious comments like that. I guess Ottakringer didnt need an All star goalie this past weekend. They probably didnt want 22 goals against a game.

Just so everyone knows... Roger doesn't play for the Storm and nobody from the Storm has posted anything regaurding our play-off series against the Thunder.

Lets take the time to give credit where credit is due. Dan made late additions to his team that were unmatchable to any of the late moves. He put the Thunder in a great position to win this thing. Good Luck and congrats to the Gladiators and Thunder. This will be a great matchup.

The Tour Growl claims no responsibility for the comments of the previous poster and his constant need to take pod shots at pro officials of any league, whether they are serious in nature or not. Not to mention, shots at inline companies and their executive, which we are trying to work with. We apologize and promise that something will again be said or done to stop this.

I'm sure it was, apparently one of our players has contracted a bad case of oral diarrhea and feels the need to speak on a topic that has absolutely nothing to do with him. I again apologize, please see below post.

I am not sure why everyone is so sensitive on this board. It is supposed to be for entertainment and amusement purposes only. Yes, I make off the wall comments at times, but lets keep it real, the wheel company in question has a great product. There are tons of publicity from this site for them and I just happened to joke around. My apologies here Mike but we all need to relax a little bit and have some fun. Get better soon Eddy, and go CT in your chase for a title in the MLRH Finals....

Dude, for the record I wasn't mad at that comment. I was actually just wanting to make sure it "was" me you were talking about because then you would assume that I am such a great player that I could have helped, I actually took it as a compliment. Although the boys on the Boston Storm are talented enough without the 35 year old wheel guy holding them back. Great season boys and no worries on the comment brother, I know it was all in fun. Take care..

By the way this final should be pretty exciting. I will go out on a limb and take the Thunder in 3 hard fought games. Pinero wins MVP
Sorry ying, If its any consolation I have you scoring 7 goals in the 3 games and getting the overtime winner in game 2.

I really do take offense when I am not criticizing anyone in particular here ( pod shots?). I think the officials do a great job in PIHA, MLRH, Narch etc. They don't have an easy job when players complain at them, they get attacked by parents, and even some coaches in instances. Everyone can have an off night whether it be officiating or playing. I don't know what went on in the game in question from MLRH, but certainly I can't be faulted for making a factual statement like my next one. If you are a great team, you will overcome anything in your way. It is a status that I will hopefully be apart with the Growl organization. Back to business at hand, game tonight at Feasterville, starting with Swoosh vs. the Scrappers. It will be the return of a few key members from the Championship team last year for the Swoosh facing the Scrappers. Our game starts at 7:30PM, and it will be followed by the Pro game at around 8:30PM. Peace out.

Mike,
As compensation for the traumatically serious posts in this thread that I am reading (or that's how they're being made out to be), I think I should get a case of Rink Rat's for my troubles. No later than Sunday, please.

I"m sorry but Marple is too much of a powerhouse, you guys should really consider sharing the wealth with your players, maybe if you divide your team up amongst the other teams, we would really have a sick league! But back on topic, I'm sorry but Marple wins both games, thunder is strong team and will keep it to a low scoring game, but marple wins in 2!
Good Luck Guys

Something tells me that, that 35 year old wheel guy is absolutely good enough to make a big difference. Wont make any predictions but lets just say I disagree with Mike.

Actually, Marple is just fine the way it is, and it is better for the league for it to stay that way.
Having a Marple forces all other teams to hunt harder and harder for talent, and to work more and more to keep said talent. It is good for the players, it is good for the fans, and that makes it good for the league.
A look at MLRH AAA history shows this. First two years, the finals were won by a dynamite Colorado Crush team. They killed the HR Destroyers (sorry to bring it up Nlane) in year 1. Squeaked by an MLRH AAA newbie named Marple (based around Cartoyz if I remember right) in year 2. In year three, they couldn't stay together as one team and the peices were demolished by East coast teams and didn't make the finals. Last year it was Marple. Good shot at it this year too, though the Thunder are darn tough.
Each and every year, the league has had better and better play. Why? Mostly because teams have a goal to shoot for when building. Having a team like today's Marple forces an owner to work harder to improve their team or they blown out of the league. I bet that old Crush team would have to really stretch to make the top 4 in this season's MLRH AAA.
How did Darwin say it? something like "Survival of the fittest is good for the entire species"?

That's okay, Ben. Some of those HR Destroyers helped win the Warriors the National title. You can talk about them all you want.

When the best players have to be split up there is a name for it....men's leagues. Keep them together. Sets a pretty high bar. And don't forget any given gameday- Remember the Firebirds.

Being this good and so deep has helped us overcome lots of key injuries this year. Thats the key to every NHL playoff team run, depth. Things happen and you prepare for them in advance and that is what Jamie has done with building solid line after line so if we lose someone(Ron Tracey) the others are that good they can make up for it and the depth is there to try and fill that gap.

Having played both teams, I can say that they both have strong teams. I think Marple, however, is the class of the league and will retain the championship trophy and complete the season undefeated.
Several reasons for my prediction:
1) They are playing at home and Marple has not lost at home for several years....here they would have to lose 2 of 3...just can't see that happening.
2) We played Marple twice and Hartford four times this season. The first Marple game was a domination by the Glads and I will not say much about that one..except that we did not come to play hockey and got our butts whooped! The second game was close (11-8 and two penalties a piece), but the Glads turned it up and won. In our Hartford games, the games were all close in score alone(6-8, 10-5, 9-8, 11-9 with the Storm racking up 79 more penalties minutes than the Thunder.....WOW!!! that is almost 2 full games of penalty minutes more than the Thunder in the 4 games played...I'm shocked that we were able to keep the games as close as we did). Unless the Glads lose all composure or something out of their control occurs, I just think the Thunder will not get as many PP opportunities, and the Glad's talent will prevail.
3) Head to Head, the games were close during the regular season, and Marple won them both without having all of their top guns in the line-up. I expect Jamie will have everyone there for the biggest games of the season.
4) Jamie wants the record...back to back championships and an undefeated season. His team has the talent, coaching and management to get the job done!!!!
Either way...Best of luck to everyone playing next weekend!!!! We'll be seeing you next year ;-)
