GROWL

This weekend is the start of the PIHA season, anyone care to discuss Saturday's two kickoff games:

In a rematch of last years semi-final the Nasty Boyz are gonna visit the Susquehanna Sports Center to take on Mazer, Unger and the Lunatics. Will surely be a physical game.

The Growl is going to visit the expansion Minutemen of Instant Replay in Morristown. Not sure what to expect other then we know that Sonny Kim and Joe Tan are rostered for the M Men.

Minor leagues should be interesting as well. The Lunatics minors will be strong with the return of Gartzke and crew, but the Rolling Relics our out and the Nasty Boyz are due to introduce their new minor team this weekend against a tough opponent.

The Scrappers will look to start their title defense against the Minutemen, who reportedly will roster Thomas Stahl. Another example of the continued improvement of the PIHA minor league.

It should be very interesting this weekend coming up. I am very interested in facing this stud and the rest of the minutemen minor league team. As for the Scrappers, we have added Ron Dibona, Drew Miller ( played pro last year), and a few younger guys to add to an extremely strong lineup. We have some core players that will need to be marked this weekend if the NJ team will be successful. The Growl are not to be held in light regard as well, as they have added some of the key components from the Beast ( mario, jonesy). It should be a great couple of games at the Instant Replay Center, starting at 5pm.

Its not fun until PIHA starts up again....

Any comments on the games this weekend from PIHA? From the Scrappers perspective, we played good enough to win and we did, 6-3, over a tough nosed Minutemen team. I was impressed with their tenacity to go after the puck as they did not shy away from the rough and tumble scrappers bunch. I look forward the 2 games in the future with these guys ( hopefully I will have more in the goal category as opposed to the 16 minutes in penalties handed out by a high strung official). As for the pro team, a couple costly penalties did us in as we could not prevail over a strong new franchise ( 10-6). I am sure we will rebound for the exciting matchups this Saturday at the Plex, starting at 530. Anybody have a recap from the game at the Susuehanna place? Thanks.
