Two of the hottest MCRHL teams will be facing off in a Regular Season Match-Up this weekend at Total Roller Hockey in Wixom, MI. This game has Western Michigan facing off against Michigan State on Saturday, November 7 at 7 pm (EST).
Western Michigan (8-1 MCRHL, 9-1 Overall) finished first in the MCRHL last season, however, this was a season in which five of the biggest MCRHL teams competed outside of the MCRHL. There has been much talk around the league that WMU could not have won last season if those powerhouses had competed. WMU appears to have a strong desire to hush these talks, and prove once and for all, they are the best in the Midwest. WMU is coming off two big wins against the MCRHL's Eastern Michigan, and look to continue their success against Michigan State.
Michigan State (4-0 MCRHL, 5-0 Overall) has always been a collegiate roller hockey powerhouse. Its list of achievements is probably the most impressive in all of the nation. This list consists of two CRHL National Championships, a handful of NARCh Winternational Championships, and numerous MCRHL Championships. MSU is coming off a season in which they finished second in the CRHL Premier program. They are currently undefeated on the year, and look to continue their winning streak against WMU.
Both teams play in the Midwest Collegiate Roller Hockey League which is the nationally recognized governing body of collegiate roller hockey in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Western Ohio. The MCRHL is a proud member organization of the National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association. Every year teams from the MCRHL compete for the MCRHL Championship and the NCRHA championship.
