What do you think the best wheel is for your money. Is it better to buy one rink rat wheel at $12 or four $3 wheels that you can just toss when they get crusty? What is the best wheel over all?

I'm not sure, however I do recall someone selling wheels in this message board and some of the money benefited this site. There's some good reviews on it in the product section I believe.

I was the guy selling Cyko blue ice wheels they will compete with Labeda and Hyper. Danny G has both styles still running. If you are interested I will send one set to your house for $38.00, $5.00 of the money goes to Rich for his hard work on this site. My son has a set of Labeda grippers and wants his Cyko's back. email me @
[email protected] for more info! Thanks Mike

for those interested...over 200 hours, and hardly any wear...now skating daily on our new sportcourt-over-concrete surface, and response is dramatic...very good touch, which aids confidence in a player like myself, who is in the "all the help you can get category..."

I currently play on two surfaces... I have a set of dynasties (came with the skates) that I use on sportcourt and after only 3-4 games of pickup they've already started wearing pretty bad. I'd definitely consider trying a set of cyko's there.
The other surface is a painted, polished concrete surface. Any 74-76A wheel I've tried hasn't lasted very long (labeda mileniums - chunked x 2 sets, Dualities wore out in a season). I"m running some 84A red stars at the moment and wonder how the cyko's would last there.

When a wheel chunks it is normally been around for a while, the urethane is breaking down. On a cement floor I would suggest the Cyko split visions they are an 84a durometer and will wear and hold up and if they chunk you will get a new wheel, which they won't , all wheels are guaranteed.
if it's a latex concrete paint over cement, then the 84's are usually too hard, some of the floors mixed sand in the paint though so it depends......ugly when you fall.......
We had to use a softer and grippy wheel on our painted cement (latex paint over concrete) floor, and the newer styles didn't seem to work that well, - ie milleniums, trinties, even rink Rats..... they slipped and also chunked out fairly quickly (not saying the Rink Rat's chunked out on that surface because we didn't run them long enough to find out - definitely did on wood though) old formula g's worked well and so did the old Labeda Grippers 74A and 76A. They went a while without chunking too. Maybe the Cyko's would work well there.

Red Star C-cores... theyre awesome!!! I get rink rats for free from my employer and have been skating on them for a bit now but, I got a pair of 2004 red star c-cores from a rep and I love them.. I feel that the grip and durability in rink rats are awesome but, I also feel like you lose speed on rink rats.. maybe its just me but, the c-core has the great grip you find on the rats but has more speed.. the durability isnt as good as the rats but hey, what do I care when I dont pay for wheels and I can just replace them.
