NYC question

hey guys,

whats up, been awhile and I havent been on much. Got a question..... Im in NYC visiting my g/f and Ive been here for 2 weeks now... Im in manhattan, does ANYONE know of any good rinks w/ sport court, ice court, or even a painted surface? I know of chelsea piers, Im gonna check it out.. does anyone know of anywhere else w/ open hockey? Let me know guys.

off topic, but...assumption that the Las Cruces, New Mexico rink fell through, and the corresponding MLRH team will therefore not materialize for the coming season?

Yup, you got it danny.. sadly enough, its the town that is responsible for it not happening. They have been giving the ownership group endless problems. The owners (myself included) decided to pull the plug and rethink things. Im thinking las cruces is done, I didnt really like las cruces to begin w/ so, Im not exactly pushing that we try it again. Ive already lost almost 50k of my own money and hopefully I'll get it back. Im already involved in a few other deals for buildings as we speak. But as far as NM, its not happening as of right now. I also dont see much point in pushing it when theres already one full size facility in el paso, theres not enough hockey (money spending players anyway) for both rinks to survive in my opinion. I also honestly kind of felt like I was in the stone age out there when it comes to hockey so I felt kind of lost (no offense).. we'll see what happens though, Id love to do some stuff out of your rink (a tourney or a clinic) at some point though if u were interested. I'll ttyl

Hi SS - try Extremes - a bit outside the city but close to major highways (22 and I287) - call Brian at 732 560 0005 he's usually in after one. The Wolfpack play/practice out of there and some of them are probably practicing for Narch National this week - they also have regular practices on Fridays and some in house adult hockey - but decent quality - bunch of MLRH players sometimes.

there is a rink in staten island called "sports fest" with sportcourt, its right off hylan boulevard and newdorp lane. i think the phone number is 1-718-980-1500. they have open hockey on friday nights from 8pm-10pm and i go there for that session sometimes. there are other days and times that you can call for and get. if you are good though come this friday, i will be there. call and get the address and put it in mapquest it will only be about a half hour from manhattan.

speaking of the wolfpac.. does anyone know whats up w/ their captain/? or had it he was going to europe to play but the team took a different american player instead for a substantial amount of $$.. is he gonna play mlrh now? Im only asking because I know he was interested in going to europe
