International SpeedHockey League Retains Marketing Firm
SpeedHockey Signs Exclusive Partnership with Public Enterprise Group
The International SpeedHockey League ("SpeedHockey"), a new major professional inline hockey league, has reached agreement with Huntington Beach marketing firm Public Enterprise Group, Inc. ("PEG") to lead marketing and sponsorship efforts for the league. PEG will spearhead corporate sponsorship sales, multi-level marketing agreements and branding initiatives for SpeedHockey.
SpeedHockey will debut with an Inaugural Series of games in 2003, including exhibition games in Southern California this September and the East Coast in October. SpeedHockey will launch its premier season in 12 U.S. markets in 2004, with expansion to Canada and Europe planned over the following three years.
"We are very excited we were able to secure a partnership with Public Enterprise Group," said SpeedHockey Commissioner Bob Elder. "PEG offers an innovative marketing approach as well as an accomplished record of client success, and we are already benefiting from our association with them."
PEG helps companies develop new markets by creating opportunities with governments (whose revenues are greater than one-third of America's Gross Domestic Product) and through new business-to-business marketing strategies. PEG uses the high-powered marketing resources of its owners and a network of associates in business, government, and sports and entertainment to arrange profitable marketing relationships for its clients and corporations. For contact information and inquiries, please visit PEG's website at www.publicenterprise.com.
"We are excited by the prospects for sponsors that SpeedHockey creates," said Mike Riley, PEG's President. "SpeedHockey is an idea whose time has come, and they have an experienced and professional group of sports executives in line to produce a first class, major league product. We are already signing up sponsors who want to get in on the ground floor of this exciting marketing opportunity."
SpeedHockey is a sport designed to utilize the best aspects of ice hockey and inline hockey, played on an 85' x 85' surface. It is played in a three-on-three manner, plus goaltenders. The sport includes recessed goals (to prevent players from taking the puck behind the nets, which slows down the pace of hockey games). To further increase the speed of play, there are no icing or offside rules. There will also be a two-point goal circle to reward slapshots from the perimeter.
These and other measures will provide great excitement for both players and fans as well as a uniqueness that will distinguish professional inline hockey from ice hockey. SpeedHockey will be the fastest team sport in the world! In addition, the league's player salary structure, travel, and arena rental costs will present a sound and practical financial structure for success.
SpeedHockey is currently reviewing applications for team ownership, and applications are still being accepted. Interested parties should direct all
inquiries to Bob Elder by phone or e-mail. Elder can be contacted through the SpeedHockey website at www.speedhockey.org.
SpeedHockey will play its inaugural exhibition game at UC Irvine's Bren Events Center on Saturday night, September 13. Tickets will go on sale the first week of July. The second game of the league's Inaugural Series will be held at Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, New Jersey on Saturday night, October 18. The final game of the series will be played in January 2004 at a site to be determined.
