2003 Men?s Inline Hockey Team USA to Represent the United States in World Championships
LINCOLN, Neb.- USA Roller Sports (USARS) is proud to announce the Men?s Inline Hockey Team USA, which will represent the United States at the 2003 Federation Internationale de Roller Sports (FIRS) Men?s World Inline Hockey Championships. The competition will be held June 28 through July 6 in Pisek, Czech Republic.
The line up for this year?s Team USA includes: James Beilsten, James Bufalino, David Brito, Mike Ciolli, Dan Costanza, Rich Garvey, Rob Laurie, Ziggy Marszalek, Taj Melson, Jerry Osterkamp, Ron Tracy, Eric Weichselbaumer, Charles Yoder and Jamie Yoder, with alternates Jay Mazer and Oliver David.
?Our team is well-balanced in all facets of the game,? said Rob Chornomud, Head Coach of Team USA. ?My goal is to put Team USA back on top as the dominant force in international competition.?
The team was selected from a trial camp held May 30 through June 1, at Soc n? Roll Indoor Sports Center in Monument, Colo. Of the 14 players on the squad, ten will return from last year?s silver medal team. With a dynamic combination of new talent and international experience, Chornomud is ready to coach the team to a gold medal victory.
?This was the deepest pool of talent ever collected for world team tryouts,? said Chornomud. ?Any player at camp could have been a world team member.?
