All I know is that IHC Webmaster Justin Nazarenko's team got knocked out. We may have to suspend his playing privileges for making IHC look bad by association :)

Yes, it's true. Despite going into the playoffs as the number one seed, having not even given up a goal in the round robin games, we lost our second round game in a sudden death shootout. Disappointing but whatever!
I didn't stick around for the finals because it would have placed me in serious jeopardy of missing my flight home. They started late this year and since we got knocked out earlier than expected, we all opted to take the flight rather than pay the penalties for transferring. But the last I heard, the Stockholm Capitals (aka Team Sweden) was beating Marple Sports Arena of Marple Newtown, PA handily in the third period of the finals (incidentally, Marple is our bitter rival in local league play so.. I can't say who I was rooting for /wtimages/icons/wink.gif)
Even though Breakout is typically not thought of as a bigtime inline hockey tournament to the serious competitors, I thought the NHL did an excellent job with this event. The fact that Walt Disney World hosted the event gave plenty for families to do during non-playing hours and during the competition time itself, games, skills competitions and special appearances by a number of celebrities and a certain 'Lord' of hockey kept everyone entertained. I'll be posting a story on it, as well as some pictures from the events, later this week.

Sorry buddy, just had to give you a hard time.
After defeating Roller Hockey Magazine's team at NHL Breakout Los Angeles after moving on to InLine Hockey News, I retired from "serious" NHL Breakout competition. I'd reached the pinnacle, knocking out the team sponsored by my old buddies.
(Yes, I still have the wildly colorful and awkwardly striped Nike jersey that the championship teams were awarded.)
NHL Breakout is a blast, and I hope the Tour continues for many years to come... despite Justin's inability to win the "big one."
