...not 'Gold Division,' but for those of us hitting our "golden years," Gary DelVecchio has announced on the USA Hockey Inline internet site the inauguration of the "50 years & over" division of tournament play at the 2004 USA Hockey Inline Cup (the adult nationals).

May I impose on all of you in our IHC community to please, please, please let any and all players in this age bracket that you guys/gals come across in your local programs know of this opportunity coming up.

If every player who would want to avail themselves of this opportunity were aware of it, we will have a tremendous tournament. The key, of course, is getting the word out.

Please note that USA Hockey Inline, even though it is non-profit itself, supports IHC with advertising/promotion dollars. Richard Graham will verify that.

I don't get paid anything for saying/promoting this. I am just the guy who has been waiting since 1987 (that's only three years after Naegele invented the things, people!) to be able to play with guys my own age...help me out on this one, and when I make the 50&O U.S. national team, we'll win the IIHF Worlds for all of you IHC readers out there...(that big enough of a dream? I bet each one of you guys has your own version, right?!)

If you have the ability to help out "the old guys," as my daughter affectionately (I think) refers to us, then we beg that you do so.

Thanks!

I'll tell all "the old guys" I know for you Danny. I am sure they would be estatic to hear of this coming together. :-)

Hi Danny,

I'll be happy to join you in about 25 years, when I turn 50... ahem... /wtimages/icons/wink.gif

I am waiting for the "prosthetic division" so I can get some new knees and go play.

Now that we got the division for 50 and up, what about the guys 70's and up, I smell the "wheel chair league." lol
