Grudging Admiration for the Anaheim Ducks

I am a fan of the Los Angeles Kings. I was a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs before moving to Los Angeles in 1968. I've gone through a drought of more than 80 years without a Stanley Cup. I believe that I finally know what it means to be a Cubs fan.

All that said, I am very impressed by the Anaheim Ducks for their support for local ice and inline hockey rinks. If the entire NHL follows suit, perhaps we could have a rebirth of the inline and ice hockey growth that we saw in the late '80s and early '90s?

Nah, I guess for a fan of the Leafs and the Kings fan, that's just too much to ask. But I've been wrong before!
